Effie Zoub

Chicago

Effie began her career in event planning as an intern in college. Her passion for events sparked as she planned parties and worked the front of the house for the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. After college, her enthusiasm for events grew as she took on the role of Entertainment Supervisor at Pheasant Run Resort. During her time at the resort, Effie had the opportunity to plan corporate team building events, birthday parties, holiday parties, and weekly family events including Mardi Gras parades, Easter Egg Hunts, and Murder Mystery Dinners. Effie also had the rare opportunity to recruit and manage concert staff for famous artists such as Gretchen Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Kellie Pickler.

Effie's next adventure led her to work for a cause that is close to her heart, the American Cancer Society (ACS). While working for the ACS, Effie earned the nickname of the "logistics guru," as she thrived in organizing and executing fundraising events. Her portfolio includes planning overnight Relay for Life events that drew in 400-800 participants, and leading the logistics on events like Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Walk & Roll.

Subsequently, Effie got the opportunity to work for the University of Chicago. At the University Effie has had the privilege of planning weekly lectures and workshops that vary in industry from business to art, conferences, as well as networking receptions and treks around the world in places like New York, LA, and London. Always looking for a new challenge, Effie expanded her portfolio and started planning weddings as a side venture.

Recognizing her talent and passion for events, her friends encouraged her to start her own business which resulted in the founding of Events by Effie. No matter the occasion, Effie plans and executes each event with precision and professionalism. More importantly she loves what she does and is a firm believer in Celebrating Life One Event at a Time!
