I have a client that has just used your dog. The dog is adjusting to its new house, but is screaming somewhat once the owner leaves. A pal of hers has given a citronella collar on her behalf to use.

My question is: Can there be any health issues with using the collar when it comes to the spray getting in the eyes or lungs?

I would like to hear about individuals experiences with-the collars if they are negative or positive.

Thanks in advance!!

Expensive Adam:

I've a customer who has only used a dog. The dog is adjusting to its new house, but is shouting somewhat when the owner leaves. A friend of hers has lent a citronella collar on her to try.

My question is: Can there be any health concerns with using the collar when it comes to the spray getting in the eyes or lungs?

I would want to hear about peoples activities with the collars whether they are negative or positive.

Thanks in advance!!

Precious RD:

They have a tendency to jam up. And of course run-out of spray. And - although it probably won't kill your dog - who-knows what spraying that stuff in their eyes and nose will do over a period of time.

Ultimately, the dog would only have to be sprayed a couple of times and then while wearing the collar he had learn to never bark. But everyone else I know appears to get through the refill spray containers such as a worm eats through a discarded balogna plastic. And this would suggest that the correction from your spray is only motivational enough to have the dog to end the existing exhibition of the behavior, but is not motivational enough to make him remember to not do it later.

I recommend the Tri-Tronics Bark Limiter. It's an excellent product (it gives a slight surprise to the dog when h-e barks) and it works well. Get one of these web search o-n google.com. To research additional info, please consider taking a look at: purchase here.

Best of luck,

Adam

P.S. When you have already got the Citronella collar... go ahead and try it and see if it works for you. It is maybe not going to kill the dog over night. ;-) And you might get lucky and find that a couple of sprays is likely to be all that you must control the behavior... if your dog has a fairly gentle personality in the first place.
