Evert Verhagen

Amsterdam, Netherlands

As founder of Creative Cities Evert helps cities to become creative and attractive places and projects to find their direction and strategy. By offering the services of

* strategic development

* project management and

* coaching

I can help you to improve your project and build another cornerstone for a city where people love to live.

I neither believe in 'top-down' as in 'bottom-up' projects. Transformation is the proces that you are looking for, with vision, strategy, leadership, team and program as the important success factors. Industrial heritage and all other places and spaces in your city that tell a story offer an enormous opportunity for change making projects.

As project manager for the award winning Culture Park Westergasfabriek regeneration project, Evert was nominated for the International Urban Landscape Award(IULA). The project received the Landscape Institute Award (UK) in 2007 and the Europa Nostra Award in 2010. He won the Dutch government award for excellent project management, the Golden Pyramid in 2004.

Based in Amsterdam, Evert has co-written the book Creativity and the City (2003, together with Simon Franke). He also contributed to Creative City Perspectives (2009) and New Ideas for Old Buildings (2009).
