I was adopted from Vietnam just before my second birthday. My adoptive parents also adopted a little boy at the same time, who they named AJ. He would become my brother. We're only 4 months apart, but as you can guess, many people thought we were twins growing up. And it was always a pain to explain how we weren't really related.
I lived in Burke, VA after my parent brought my brother and I back from Vietnam. We lived there two years, moved to Chesapeake, VA for nearly 8 years. I don't recall moving or my life in Burke, or even my life in Vietnam. We lived in Chesapeake till my father lost his job in 2010.
He got a job again, thank goodness, after about 4 months of constant searching. (I'll go more indepth soon about my life on my blog etienneeze.wordpress.com). But this job was back up in the Burke area. This move was difficult, because my father deployed to Afgahnhastan for 7 monthes (before the move was complete (more will be shared on my blog soon)).
Now after 3 years, I finally feel comfortable with this environment. There are things I still very much miss, but I've come to accept that change is good. I would not be the person I am today if I had not allowed the coarse of my life to change where I thought I was going.
