I have more than enough to last me a lifetime. My space is brimming with textiles old and new, with buttons, braids, threads and trims. There are bags and boxes of cast-off clothing just begging to made into something new. I have decent scissors, several sewing machines and a brand-new overlocker to take me into the years ahead.

I hope you will join me on my journey into a bygone era, where thrift and good stewardship sit side by side with function, form and the occasional flash of the feminine.

Over the next 12 months I aim to curb spending, to limit acquisition, and above all, to value the textiles already within my keep. Let the stitching begin.
