Evil Emperor

Evil Emperor is an Brazilian death metal band that started in 2002 through the guitarist Eduardo Fallavena and other former members as a project originally dedicated to black metal. However, after the release of the first demo (The Evil Birth), a natural reformulation occurred, bringing change on the crew and the compositions focus, which consequently began to define the terms of death metal that is currently played. The result came in the form of a second demo (Butcher of Souls) now with Lamazuus on bass and André Rodrigues on drums. This work was acclaimed by critics and freely distributed on the Internet. Since then, the band solidified its presence on the national scene. Evil Emperor released the first studio album in 2012 for the label Rotten Foetus Records, with Rikardo Schroeder on second guitar and Rodrigo Volkweis on vocals. This is a work containing 12 tracks that demonstrate the brutality of the compositions and versatility of the band sonority. For 2013, the band is already preparing his second album, now with Rafael Zanetti on guitar.

The band's album art and its lyrics, which draw heavily on horror fiction and bloody films, are highly controversial. Evil Emperor prides itself on overtly violent-themed songs and album artwork, which it sees as nothing more than an extreme form of over-the-top entertainment. We don't sing about politics. We don't sing about religion. All our songs are short stories that, if anyone would so choose they could convert it into a horror movie. We like gruesome and scary movies, so we want the lyrics to be like that. Evil Emperor also believes the violent lyrics can have positive values: after all, it’s good to have anger music as a release. Yeah, it's about killing people, but it's not promoting it at all. Basically these are fictional stories, and that's it. And anyone who gets upset about it is ridiculous.
