I am a qualified Teacher of English (Cambridge UK and Waikato NZ) and have an active interest in South East Asia. Accordingly my strengths are found in teaching English as a second language to pupils from this region. I teach ‘Contextual English’ via history. This allows the student to acquire their knowledge of 'English' with a deeper understand of its application.
Similarly I teach English for use within a business context. This is helpful for professional qualified immigrants with English as their second language. My ‘small talk to contracts’ course is designed improve communication and understanding within a more formal setting.

I have opinions on these subjects and still like to encourage others by words as well as deeds. My articles are published under my name and the pseudonym Rupert de Bear.
