Emily V. Rapkoch

I am a Computer Information Systems and Information Technology Management double major at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Currently, my minor is in Music, emphasis in brass instruments. I am considering adding a Theology minor/major to the mix, we will see what will work out best. Someday, I hope to have a job where I can work from home - that way, still focus on my family while still receiving a much needed income.

Currently, I am part of the Emerging Leaders Academy for business. Along with that, I am part of several different groups on campus, including the university's Steel Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. This year I am part of the trumpet quintet. Previously, I have been a part of the Concert Choir and trumpet quartet. Aside from music, I am part of the Collegians for Life and I volunteer in Bismarck at the Church of the Ascension with middle school youth group.

During the 2013-14 school year, I received the opportunity to be a Resident Assistant in Boniface Hall. Being a part of Resident Life has expanded my horizons and has already challenged me in ways I couldn't imagine.

When at home in Shelby, I spend my time life guarding at the Shelby Pool and babysitting in town. I hope to find employment at the new hotel in town in the IT department, so I can start gaining experience now. This way, I can jump right into the working force after college. I also spend time at St. William's Catholic Church volunteering, making rosaries, and selling tickets for fundraising.

I realize I have one shot in life, and no one is going to make it out alive. I hope that throughout the rest of my life I can maintain the desire I have burning inside me to follow my dreams and work hard until they become a reality. Until I am unable to, I plan on learning all I can, whether it be from experience or school.
