Ewen Macaulay

Ewen Macaulay Cityscapes / Landscapes (Born: 1973, Ashford, Kent, England) Ewen Macaulay is a self taught artist although he has studied graphic design. Studying at The London College of Printing, West Kent College, and the University of Greenwich. He has worked in the design industry for 12 years as both a digital and print designer. His preferred medium is acrylic combined with acrylic inks, although he does use watercolour with inks. Recently Ewen's had his first solo exhibition (April 2011) 'A Modest View' which was an exploration his love of architecture, cities and life, with each piece reflecting the energy and emotion exercised to create it. His work is full of energy, colour and movement. This technique allows the energy of his natural style to come out in each painting. Often working on large had made canvases which lend themselves to his busy style. His ink work is inspired by the illustrator Ralph Steadman. Ewen is working towards his second solo exhibition this year.
