Emy Wilhelm

Johannesburg, South Africa

I am a clinical psychologist with a doctorate in psychotherapy. My real passion, though, is fighting for animal rights. I would like to connect with animal lovers from all over the world.

As Gandhi said: THE GREATNESS OF A NATION AND ITS MORAL PROGRESS CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED:

Although South Africa is a fascinating country, animal rights are not a priority. I support all animal rights issues but have chosen to focus on the cruel and senseless fur trade.

The trade in fur is one of the most abhorrent activities on this planet. It entails the farming and killing of wild animals in the most horrendous ways. This is solely for a fashion item that nobody needs in the 21st century.

I have started a campaign where compassionate people are pledging to NEVER BUY any items containing real fur. This will be used by Fur Free SA to approach South African retailers to be fur free. This has already happened in Australia department stores.

Clicking on this link will take you to the pledge.

For the rest of my life I am working towards getting the import and export of fur banned in South Africa. This might not happen in my lifetime but even if I leave one step behind, that will be one step closer to the goal. If you would like to follow this journey please visit my blog.
