The celebration of any Excelsior an­niversary of its consecration is in other words, the anniversary of foundation of English Freemasonry in the Argentine Republic.

In 1854 Buenos Aires was a small town of about 80.000 inhabitants, with everything in the most primitive style, whereas, it has now grown to be one of the great cities of the earth. The progress of Freemasonry in this country, while not all that could have been desired by its well-wishers, has probably exceeded anything imagined by those early pioneers.
