Who Am I?

Identity. It's what makes you who you are, yet it's never fixed, always in flux.

Who I am:

By the most common labels I am a woman, a wife, mother, student, scholar, teacher. I love literature, film and have a passion for shoes. Yet none of these roles and tastes describe me in my entirety.

I grew up lonely and poor with a fire in me to question the status quo and transcend the circumstances (material and emotional) that limited my potential as a human being.

Education and ongoing self reflection have brought me to a time and place where I want to give back and make a difference not only as a scholar, but as a person who encourages others to see the best in themselves.
