Eli Yokley
COLUMBIA, Mo.
Eli Yokley, a Joplin native, is the managing editor of The Missouri Times.
Yokley began his career in 2010, covering the mid-term elections in Missouri that year. Two years later, Yokley was noted for his coverage of the 2012 U.S. Senate primary and general election. Yokley has shown a proven ability to not only effectively deliver the news, but give readers a sense of how and why it happened.
In 2010, he was lauded as one of the top state political bloggers by the Washington Post. In 2012, Yokley was awarded “Top Political Blog” for PoliticMo by the Riverfront Times. And in December 2012, Missouri Scout praised Yokley for his work covering 2012 and beyond. Yokley founded PoliticMo, a news website focused on Missouri politics, in 2010.
Yokley has appeared on KOMU-TV in Columbia, KOAM-TV in Joplin, SkyNews in Britain, KMOX radio in St. Louis, KFRU radio in Columbia, and numerous other broadcast stations to discuss Missouri news and politics.
In addition to his workload, Yokley is currently working to earn his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
