Ezra Levant is a conservative political activist and right-wing media figure. Formerly, he was a columnist for the Western Standard and hosted The Source daily on Sun News Network. He is a broadcaster and founder of Rebel News, where he regularly produces content and hosts his own show – The Ezra Levant Show, providing a conservative perspective on topics such as free speech, politics, and foreign policy.
Levant was born in Calgary Alberta to an Ashkenazi Jewish family. His great grandfather emigrated from Russia into Canada in 1903, establishing a homestead near Drumheller. He grew up in a suburb of Calgary where he attended the Calgary Hebrew School.
Levant studied at the University of Calgary where he earned a commerce degree as well as a law degree. He has a long political background, starting early when he campaigned for the Reform Party of Canada as a teenager and joined later as a university student.
During his studies, Levant won the best debating category for his two-person team in the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition at Queen’s University.
