Felipe Fagundes

Felipe, 20, is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College, majoring in Economics-Engineering. Originally from Brazil he spent half of his life in Quito, Ecuador where he studied at an international school. That experience opened his eyes to various cultures and perspectives on issues, leading him to decide to go to the U.S. for college. This coming summer he will be spending six weeks in South Korea in a cultural exchange with students at Yonsei Univeristy, in the hope of understanding the wonderful transformations Korea has gone through since World War II. In 2009 along with one of his friends, he organized a large-scale event called Fashion For Humanity that raised $100,000 for Habitat for Humanity to use in the construction of a school in the impoverished northeast of Brazil. Felipe is also a member of the Claremont McKenna Student Investment Fund, as well as, a member of the Claremont McKenna Board of Trustee's committee for Buildings and Grounds.
