Fernando Marcos

Fotógrafo, profesor y amante de la ciencia. Referente en la especialidad de fotografía escénica (Compañía Nacional de Danza, OCNE, teatro de la Zarzuela) con múltiples premios, entre ellos un World Press Photo 2002. Profesor en la escuela EFTI desde hace 15 años, donde imparte talleres especializados de fotografía fílmica, laboratorio y tutor durante años del Máster Internacional en su itinerario Documental. Apasionado de la fusión entre arte y ciencia crea en 2009 “Proyecto Metáfora”, junto al científico y divulgador Carlos Briones, como propuestas de la simbiosis Arte y Ciencia. Expone en PHE12, Fundación Loewe, Hotel Palace, Madphoto09, ArtMadrid 2011, por nombrar recientes. En 2009 inicia su proyecto “Vida, Origen y Multiverso” como reflexión sobre el origen de la vida en ambientes extremos, a realizar en diferentes partes del mundo. Una de sus etapas (Atacama, Chile) gana el primer premio del Certámen Arte y Ciencia, de la AC. Galery de Madrid.

Fernando Marcos, professor and photographer. I graduated of the prestigious EFTI School in Madrid, and afterward I joined the faculty alongside internationally renowned professionals. My fields of expertise as a teacher included specialized lighting techniques, visual aesthetics, analogue photography and XIX Century photographic techniques. I has been Co-Director of the Stage Photography course at the School of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid, 2003/2004.

I have been the official photographer of the" Compañía Nacional de Danza" since 2000, setting the standard in this field of expertise. Presently I am also the official photographer of the "Orquesta y Coros Nacionales de España" and the photographer of “Teatro de Zarzuela”.
In 2002 I won the World Press Photo Award in the category of “Arts and entertainment”.
As multifaceted artist, I have been enormously inspired by paradoxes and science. My works have been presented at Photoespaña 2007, Madrid-Foto 2008, Galería EFTI, Casa de Vacas and other specialized venues while his stage photography has received world-wide acclaim. In May 2010 my works were presented during the "Work&Process" exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum of New York City with Nacho Duato.
