Mark Fabiani

Experienced as a corporate and political crisis manager, Mark Fabiani has served as a Principal with La Jolla, California-based Fabiani and Lehane, LLC, since 1997. Mark Fabiani's strategic communications firm works with candidates for office, trade groups, companies, and public and private institutions in optimizing branding, marketing, legal, and financial strategies.

A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Mr. Fabiani served as an Editor of the Harvard Law Review and as Chief Research Assistant to Professor Alan Dershowitz. Following a clerkship with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals under the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt, he accepted responsibilities as Counsel to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley. Mark Fabiani leveraged this experience into position as Deputy Mayor and Chief of Staff to the Los Angeles mayor from 1989 to 1994. A particular achievement involved assisting in the recovery process in the aftermath of the 1992 Los Angeles riots surrounding the Rodney King beating. He also helped guide reform efforts within the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mark Fabiani next spent two years as Special Counsel to President Bill Clinton. In this capacity, he advised the President and First Lady on political, legal, and communications issues surrounding various allegations and investigations. Throughout the 1996 campaign, Mr. Fabiani served as a primary spokesperson for the White House on these issues and interacted extensively with the national media.

With senior-level U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development experience behind him, Mark Fabiani was enlisted as Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications and Strategy with Vice President Al Gore's presidential campaign in 2000. Directing pre-election media and communications tactics, Mr. Fabiani also assisted in the Florida vote recount effort following the highly contested election. Mark Fabiani has engaged in a number of high-profile assignments over the past decade, including providing strategic counsel to California's Native American tribes in challenging the state governor and Nevadan gambling interests.
