The “Aestas” short story contest 2014

BEGINS – 9:00 a.m. May 20, 2014 (Hong Kong Time)
ENDS – 11:59 p.m. June 20, 2014 (Hong Kong Time)

“Aestas” represents the summer season and is the theme of the contest. However, interpretation of the theme may be as varied as the transition from youth to middle age, or a prelude to the monsoons, or even a tale simply about harshness. In other words, so long as there is a commonly accepted or acceptable interpretation of the theme embedded in the plot, it works for us. The contest will be judged by four independent judges, and the results will be announced by mid-August 2014. Three winners will be selected from the entrants, and will be awarded prizes as detailed in the below guidelines (see ‘Prizes’). In addition, depending on the length and quality of submission, a long-list of stories will be selected for publication in an anthology which will be sold through leading online bookstores.

Prizes:

First Prize : $150 and 2 copies of the anthology

Second Prize : $100 and 2 copies of the anthology
Third Prize : $100

Plus the top 10-15 authors get a chance to be published in an anthology which will be available at leading online stores.
