Fahad Abubakar Longman is an Information Technology Consultant, Public Servant, and Youth Advocate. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Sokoto State University.

He currently works with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), National Assembly, where he supports effective lawmaking in Nigeria. Within his first year at the Institute, he achieved remarkable milestones, including the development of LegiPro—a virtual office platform that enables Distinguished Senators and Members of the House of Representatives to seamlessly access legislative resources and support services.

Prior to joining NILDS, Mr. Longman served as Special Assistant to the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’i, between 2022 and 2023, where he contributed to the implementation of key policy initiatives across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

In 2018, he co-founded Encrypted Shield Technologies, one of Nigeria’s leading software development and digital service firms, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and led several IT projects spanning website, software, and mobile app development.

He was selected from over 58,000 applicants for the 2025 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders under the United States Department of State, where he studied Leadership in Public Management at the University of California, Davis.

Fahad represented Sokoto State in the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) in 2023 and was awarded the Fellow of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (FLMI). In 2021, he participated in the Legislative Internship Programme of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), supported by the European Union (EU), working at the House of Representatives. Earlier, in 2019, he took part in the Inclusive and Accountable Politics Programme of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), engaging directly with the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly.

His dedication to public service earned him recognition among the 100 Most Impactful Young Nigerians by World Entourage Magazine in 2023. As an advocate of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he was featured in the 2018 Nigerian Youth SDGs Network directory highlighting 50 young changemakers advancing the global goals in their communities. He also made notable contributions to the passage of the #NotTooYoungToRun Bill.

Currently, Fahad serves as the Pioneer Chairman of the Sokoto State University Alumni Association. He previously held leadership positions as ICT Director, National Youth Council of Nigeria (Sokoto State Chapter); Member, #NotTooYoungToRun Movement Sokoto; and Communications & Publicity Secretary, YALI Network Sokoto.

He is a Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Legislative Mentorship Initiative, Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship, and the YALI Regional Leadership Centre (Accra, Ghana). He is also a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), a Corporate Member of the Sokoto Professionals Network, and an Alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Fahad is a recipient of several awards, including the Etisalat Merit Award Scholarship (2014) and the Federal Ministry of Education Undergraduate Scholarship (2017), among numerous other honors and certifications.
