Faheem Bin Tariq

Faheem Bin Tariq

There was a genius boy as his fellows remember him, from a family struggling with poverty in slums of Karachi, who wanted to succeed beyond limitations of geographic boundaries. The boy died because of neglect offered by this world, leaving the genius behind for betterment of mankind. The genius kept on wandering here and there in orphanages, around slums, on streets, across cementries; working for poor, saving their lives, their emotions and self confidence. huhh.. leave it, its long painful history.

Faheem has built a social momentum around topics including early child and youth development, meaningful policy dialogue, religion, climate change, and youth mobility on sensitive topics.
He also laid foundations of youth-led anti-terrorism and peace movement in Pakistan in 2008 with Pakistan Peace Corps. Having written the first draft of a youth policy declaration in Sindh, he briefed government officials and other stakeholders on the draft youth policy in December 2012.
In 2010, he was titled as “Global Scholar” by International Presidential Council of Singapore and invited as Youth Peace Ambassador by UNESCO for Youth Peace Workshop in Malaysia and International Peace Conference in Hiroshima (Japan). He led a session in New Delhi (India) on strengthening religious ties to connect India and Pakistan during WISCOMP Fellowship Program. He was invited as a guest to prestigious Pugwash Conference on Science and World Affairs in Istanbul (Turkey).
Most recently, he received the UNOSDP’s Youth Leader Fellowship, to study impact of sports for peace and was selected to participate in the British Council’s prestigious Global Changemakers Program during the fall 2012.
He has academic credentials in Architecture and Urban Policy. He is also a graduate of Global Zero’s South Asian Institute. He serves as Young Global Shaper at World Economic Forum.

Faheem's weapons are "love" and "goodwill". He has impacted lives of over 2 million youthful souls all over Pakistan. He believe in the value of diversity and the existence of immense potential in each and every individual. His life is aimed at developing inner discipline, greater resolve and empathy in people.

"I love facing challenges, otherwise I would not have founded Pakistan Peace Corps to counter social evils. Justice will prevail one day in Pakistan". Faheem (9th March, 2009 - restoration of Judicial supermacy in Pakistan)
