Fahima Fazli Popal
Fahima Fazli Popal
This Book is dedicated to my mother, Fahima Fazli My mother was the head and not the tail. She had a sweet, pure heart and clean soul who found her happiness with God & her instincts to always be kind & merciful. She would often comment, “ When you pray to God, do not prove it to me. Your prayers are between you and the creator.” She saved lives in Afghanistan by being a midwife & she saved lives in America by serving the handicapped in the nursing homes of Hacienda Heights. She was known for her unconditional mercy and call to her patient’s emergency response at all hours of the night. Her desire was always to help & love people. My mother also had an intuitive ability to read motive and intention and immediately sensed the danger in the crooked and perverse when they crossed her path. Her reactions were to simply to smile at the bad, but never confront them. In fact she never confronted the evil in anyone at all, even when they were wrong, but would instead, set the example within herself of decency, kindness, mercy and gentleness to inspire the best in all people. Even when stupid comments were made she always answered them with a smile, and held the pain inside of her. My mother did not have an abundance of material possessions, but carried herself as being rich inside & out & never complained about her abusive marriage or financial condition and didn't try to entreat favor from the rich, but found riches in the wealth of the humble & pure hearted. She just loved them and was always donating to Salvation Army. She was born and bred to be a warrior, like her father, Coronel Abdul Aziz Popal who taught the principals to never give up and keep going no matter what the circumstance looks like! And the conditions of her life were not easy. Her mother died when she was 7 years of age and was raised by her step mother. Was forced into an arranged marriage at age 16 by cultural tradition that her father could not legally say no to. And was held captive by control and manipulation in a bad marriage. Even then, she always stood up for human and animal rights. Mom, now I know why I went to war! Because you were my inspiration!
