Growing up I had two main interests, Being with people and sports. But due to the fact that I was a skinny kid with long legs the only sports that came naturally to me were cross country and track. So naturally I decided to run all four years of highschool. To be perfectly honest I always had a love/hate relationship running. On one hand, I really enjoyed seeing the little bit of progression each and every day. On the other hand, running is hard work and often the process seems like so much work for little to no results. I also had a number of injuries that plagued me throughout the years that made the work seem even more pointless. But at the end of the day this process taught me a few very valuable lessons. Ultimately the result isn’t the most important thing as long as you keep moving forward. Even when a workout felt pointless or I went months without seeing improvement I had to get up and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I've tried my best to take this mentality into every aspect of my life, especially my academics. At the end of the day you never really fail until you quit, you can only learn, improve, and try again.
