He began his academic journey at the University of New South Wales, earning a Bachelor of Engineering. This educational path was driven by his fascination with problem-solving and design, which later proved invaluable in his early career, as he managed complex development projects for publicly listed companies. Here, he developed crucial project management, construction, and innovation skills.
Despite a promising engineering career, he ventured into new fields, initially studying law at the University of New South Wales in 2004. However, his growing interest in health led him to pivot to medicine. He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Medicine, specializing in surgery. His time at university was marked by his outstanding academic achievements and active involvement in community service through student-run clinics serving underserved populations.
Dr. Faisal Qidwai's medical training included residencies at Nepean Public Hospital and completing a Pediatric Advanced Life Support course. He also specialized in surgical assistance and skin excision, completing further training that enhanced his expertise in these areas. His commitment to pediatric care was further evidenced by his diploma in child health obtained from Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2014 and a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2015.
