Faith Jessie

Faith Jessie is a senior at the University of Southern California, where she is majoring in Public Relations. Faith has been involved with many aspects of the Annenberg School in both journalism and public relations.

Faith started her journalism career on the assignment desk at Annenberg Television News (ATVN), the university’s student run news station. After a year on the assignment desk Faith served as a multimedia journalist and as a hard news correspondent where she covered stories all over Los Angeles. During her time as a reporter, Faith interned in entertainment publicity at International Creative Management which motivated her to pursue entertainment stories.

Faith's music breakthrough was during an assginment in which she profiled Low End Theory, Emcee Nocando during a photojournalism project. The peice was featured in Neon Tommy, the most visited student run online news publication in the country and transitioned into a staff position at the publication.

As a current writer for the music section of Neon Tommy, Faith helped to successfully bring stories about multiple new artists to the site. Faith is currently preparing to launch a column where she will highlight an underground musician every week in hopes to bring exposure to the wealth of culture present in the underground hip- hop scene.

After graduating from USC, Faith hopes to gain a position with a well known independent label where she can simutanouesly develop her writing skills to promote new music while learning all of the ins an outs of the studio on both a business and prodcution vantage points. She aims to one day own a label focused on international music diplomacy to change the world one beat at a time.
