It has been one of the most enduring pleasures of mine to sift through pages and pages of art books; searching for artists who take their work to the next level of innovation. I have always wanted to pursue something new and grand in terms of how I accomplish and create my paintings, and I am inspired by countless artists to do just that.

I can't even remember when I first took up a pencil or a marker. But I do remember enjoying every stroke I made. I continued to grow in my work, plowing through difficulties such as, making a person's neck to long, or give them a funny nose.

I was always interested in drawing people, and I eventually found myself a Manga beginner art book. My skills quickly escalated, although I didn't bother to try my hand at other styles of art.

I didn't wish to expand my boundaries until one day when my dad had come home from visiting Savannah Collage of Art and Design (SCAD). My art had been shown around the school and it seemed plausible that if I wanted to ever go to SCAD I would have to break outside of my box and learn how to draw other styles of art. It also meant that I would have to push myself into the realm of architecture.

But before I even decided to accomplish the hard road of building design, I pulled some money together and bought myself an anatomy book for drawing. I tried my very best to understand the muscles in the body and how the worked. I flipped through pages and pages of detailed learning on how to correctly portray the human body. I was fascinated. It was amazing to learn about this impressive and fantastic machine that God had created. And He didn't just make the body one way, He made it in all shapes and sizes. And I found myself realizing the beautiful world that God had created; hungering to know more.

As continue and develop myself in portrait painting I find that truly the only way I can complete a piece of artwork is if I am talking to God. It's as if He guides my hand and presents me with new ideas, like a lamp illuminating the countless possibilities in my mind. The LORD has indeed blessed me to be able to sketch and paint all these beautiful people around me and I can't wait to see what else He has in store. Currently I am raising money to go to Guatemala on a mission trip. If you would like to contribute or pray you can visit my etsy shop and even buy a wonderful portrait for yourself.
