#2 Cosmetic products

If you walked into Sephora Malaysia, you will see the average price of each product cost at least RM 150, to RM 400 depending on the brand.

To be certified PRO makeup artist, you need to have at least a complete set of product which could cost you easily RM 10,000

Not to mention the makeup artist has to replace the product that is already expired and usually they have to change every 6 months.

If someone offered you RM 50 for a makeup, you better think twice and take a look at the products.

#3 Makeup experience.

Makeup experience different for each makeup artist. Some popular makeup artist has been to countless fashion week, 12-14 hours behind the stage to provide support for makeup models.

They have to endure such exposure before becoming pro in this industry, versus some makeup artist that just graduated from makeup academy with little experience.

Mind you, the experience can make a huge difference with the makeup outcome and usually this is where it makes the pricing for a makeup artist is different.

They might spend only 1 hour on your makeup but charge RM 600, you might think it's too expensive but you don't know that they spend more than 5,000 hours in total practicing with what she or he can do in 1 hour.
