Farhad Azima is an aviation entrepreneur and businessman based in Kansas City, Missouri, with over 40 years of experience in the aviation industry.

In the 1970s, Farhad Azima began transporting cattle by air from the US to the Middle East. After the Iranian Revolution, he shifted to cargo operations, including aid transport to Egypt under the Camp David Accords. He expanded into passenger charter services, operating flights to major cities like London and Frankfurt.

In the 1980s, Farhad Azima founded ALG Transportation, leasing aircraft globally. By the late 1980s and 1990s, ALG had a fleet of 100 to 240 aircraft leased worldwide. He also trained E64 operators for the US Navy and supported troop movements during the First Gulf War.

Following the USSR's collapse, Farhad Azima established airlines in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Spain, and Argentina.

During the Second Gulf War, he continued his services with the US government, forming Heavylift International in the UAE to transport air cargo to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Farhad Azima received the Lifetime Achievement Award from William Jewell College in 1997, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1998, and was appointed to the United States Economic Development Commission by President Clinton in 2000.

Beyond aviation, he invested in hotels and real estate in Azerbaijan, Jamaica, and the USA.

Farhad Azima currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the US Army Command and General Staff College Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the education and training of officers. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at the American University of Afghanistan, where he also chairs the Security Committee. In 2022, he received an honorary doctorate from the American University of Afghanistan for his efforts to support Afghan women's education.
