I was born to Pakistani parents in Philadelphia, PA. We subsequently moved back to Pakistan for my father's business, which later involved living between Pakistan & Bangladesh. At fifteen, I moved to a small hilltop boarding school in Kodaikanal, India for two years where I graduated high school. I was defying political norms when I became the first Pakistani in attendance of a century old school. Looking back, these were the two most significant years of my life, impacting me positively in the years prior to university. It molded me for the independent adult life that was to follow. Being away from home gave me perspective, instilled a deeper love for family, and initiated an early onset of maturity and independence. After graduating in 2007, I moved to London in the United Kingdom to pursue higher education at Regents Business School. Living in downtown London was yet another phenomenal experience, as I was once more meeting people from all around the world, exploring a historical gold mine, and soaking in the knowledge of international business and globalization. Nurturing my need for change and travel I recommenced my journey to explore. I found myself in the liberal bubble, melting pot that is Madison, Wisconsin. It offered a surreal setting of nature and beauty while remaining city-like. I fell in love, and so commenced my six-year affair with the city I never thought I would leave. I attended Edgewood College and graduated with a bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Madison offered me my first corporate experiences as an intern at the monumental Frank Lloyd Wright creation, Monona Terrace. My next experience in the corporate world was as a Licensed Agent at CUNA Mutual Group. After having my fill, and with the burning desire to venture once again, I traveled to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Thailand soaking in the business culture, networking and studying the market for my castle in the sky: Haberdasher (a retail store project). Upon my return to the US, I moved to yet another vibrant city, Chicago, which offers new experiences that I am eager to embrace. I am currently dedicating my time towards the GMAT exam and hope to attend a top tier school for my MBA in the fall of 2014. While doing so, I am also pursuing a career as an Account Executive for a multinational fashion brand.
