Farzan is a Vancouver-based graphic designer, currently dividing his time between designing and researching on graphic design and Persian calligraphy.
He holds a bachelor and master’s degree in graphic design from the faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and obtained his PhD in design from the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay.
Farzan has worked as both freelance and in-house graphic designer for years in Iran, India and Canada. He began practicing professional art as a youth, and been enjoying numerous freelance design projects ever since. He has developed multiple design projects, doing their conception and execution to its final delivery. Farzan established his own company, Karin Graphic Studio Inc. in Iran in 1994. He has worked for various small and large clients, with a wide range of media such as logo, corporate identity, book cover, page layout, packaging and labeling, brochure, catalogue, poster, newspaper and magazine advertising, and a lot more.
At the same time he was a lecturer in various universities in Iran such as University of Science and Culture in Tehran and in other cities like Shiraz, Ardakan and Yazd.
Farzan is the author of various books and articles about graphic design, packaging design, Persian calligraphy and art criticism in Farsi (Persian).
