Peace and love! My name is Fatima D. Baqi, I am a 25 year old Moroccan American, native Southeast Los Angelino, Long Beach transplant! Currently, I work with the geriatric community as a trauma case manager. My degrees are from Long Beach City College and California State University, Long Beach.

My passion for the people is extent--I have worked as a Volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association, a jail visitor at Men's Central Jail, the country's largest Mental Health facility, public and political advocacy with social justice groups like Black Lives Matter and CHIRLA during peaceful protests, and recently, with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health as a mental health volunteer for #WeRiseLA.

While I am passionate about healthcare and love to cater to the welfare of others, my ultimate aspiration is to become a civil rights and criminal defense attorney, in which I will be a Juris Doctorate candidate come 2019. We are in dire need of criminal justice reform, and fights for human rights. I may not be able to change the world, but hope to be the small spark to ignite it.

When I’m not attempting to save the world one case note or plate at a time, I’m drawing/painting, being an amateur chef, on a boat, at a concert or traveling!

“You can't lead the people if you don't love the people. You can't save the people if you don't serve the people”-Dr. Cornel West
