FAYEMI FATUNDE FAKAYODE

Dr. F. F. Fakayode was born in 1974 at Alade Town, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. His father is late Chief Oyewusi Amoo Fakayode, the Araba/Olu-Isese of Ibadanland as well as the Baale of Alade Town, Ibadan till 2019.

He attended Islamic Mission Primary School, Moniya, Ibadan (1980-1986), Aponmode/Moniya High School, Moniya, Ibadan (1987-1992) and Adeyemi Colledge of Education, Ondo State, (1996-1998) and obtained his Bachelor of Art in Education, (B.A.(ED)) Yoruba Language (1999-2003).

He received Federal Government Scholarship in 2001 and the College Prize for being the graduating student with the best overall performance in the B.A./B.Sc. Education Degree Examination in the school of Languages for 2002/2003 Session.

Dr. Fakayode bagged Master of Arts (M.A) Degree in Yoruba Language and Literature and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Yoruba Literature from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2016 and 2019 respectively.

He was the President of Federation of Ibadan Students' Union (FIBSU), in 2002 and the President for (Yoruba Language Students' Association (Egbe Akekoo Ijinle Ede Yoruba)) ACE, Ondo, in 2001.

After his National Youth Service Corps' [NYSC] programme, he taught in private schools in Lagos State before finally returned to Ibadan in 2007.

He is the founder of Ejiodi Home of Tradition – a Cultural Consultant Company, for publications, training, tourism and research into Yoruba Religion, Culture and Tradition.

He was a member of Oyo State Inter Religious/Ethnic Committee (2014-2019) under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Executive Governor of the State. Also, he was the Chairman, Oyo State School Governing Board (SGB) of Community Grammar School (Senior), Sasa, Ibadan (2017-2021).

He authored Osun the Manly Woman [2004] and Iwure- Efficacious Prayer to Olodumare, the Supreme Force (2011).

He is a member of Board of Directors, Multivest Microfinance Bank, Ojoo, Ibadan (2020 till date).

Also, he is the General Secretary of Traditional Religion Worshippers’ Association of Oyo State (2016 till date).

For his service to the society, he has received many meritorious awards.

He was installed as Aare Agbefaga of Yorubaland in 2010, Mogaji (Àrólé) of Onibudo Royal Family of Ibadan in 2020 and Jagunmolu Awo Agbaye in 2022.

He is the incumbent President of the International Council for Ifa Religion.

Dr. Fakayode is a Babaláwo, an Independent Researcher, a Farmer, an author and a Cultural Consultant and is married with children.
