Federico Olivieri

I am the Cultural Cooperation Attaché of the Embassy of Spain in Kenya.

I first graduated in Journalism at the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain) and later completed an MA in Global Media and Post-National Communication at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

I have participated in courses, seminars and conferences on African cinema and Postcolonialism in Spain, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and the UK, and I have been actively involved in the creation of media for development projects such as Just Messaging in the Western Sahara (www.justmessaging.com) or the Slum Film Festival in Nairobi (www.slumfilmfestival.org).

Born in Milan (Italy), I grew up in Tarifa, the Southern-most European town facing Africa on the Strait of Gibraltar, where I have taken part in the organization of its annual African film festival – FCAT or currently re-defined Cordoba African Film Festival (www.fcat.es).
