I Love Being a Makeup Artist

I love art in general and particularly enjoy painting. Making up faces has been a great way for me to utilize my creativity. Just like with painting, color theory and understanding light and shadow is very important when it comes to makeup. Every client that I work on provides me with a new “canvas” to work upon.

One of the greatest rewards as a makeup artist has been witnessing the impact that I have had on many of my clients, and the repeat customer loyalty that has developed with them as a result. To date, word of mouth referrals have been my greatest advertisement. This shows my clients are happy with the work that I do for them and they trust me to take care of the person they are referring as well.

I have been working as a freelance makeup artist for more than 3 years. During that time I have been fortunate enough to work with some very talented photographers, agencies, crews and talent. This has allowed me the opportunity to create looks for people of all skin tones, skin types, all ages and ethnicity’s.

I’ve been given the chance to do makeup in most areas of the entertainment industry, including T.V. (i.e., CBS “Live From The Couch”), print (Xtreme Bikes Magazine), and video (MTV, VH1). I also do makeup for weddings and special events, which I love because it’s an honor to be a part of someone’s important day.

In addition to makeup artistry, I am trained in hairdressing from Concorde School of Hair Design. I continue to further my education on a constant basis and I’m always taking courses that will help me grow as an artist.
