Feliciano Serrano

Dr. Feliciano Serrano was raised in Los Angeles in a community of low income and underserved families. Brought up by parents who encouraged him to have a social conscience and help those around him, Dr. Feliciano Serrano grew up with the goal of becoming a doctor who could make a difference in his community. With that goal motivating him, Dr. Feliciano Serrano laid the foundations for his career with a comprehensive education that began at the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in biological sciences. After graduating with his undergraduate degree, Dr. Feliciano Serrano attended the California State University at Dominguez Hills, where he graduated cum laude with a Master’s in Biological Technology and Genetics. Determined to get his credentials, Dr. Feliciano Serrano began his medical studies at the MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine before transferring to the USC Keck School of Medicine from which he graduated in 2002. After graduating, Dr. Feliciano Serrano completed residencies and fellowships that included specialized training in internal medicine, nephrology, vascular procedures, and the treatment of hypertension as well as thrombosis in kidney disease. Dr. Feliciano Serrano also conducted a number of studies. These studies included in depth examinations of subjects such as oxidative stress on leukocytes and its impact on chronic renal failure and hypertension; the role of platelet Fc gamma RIIA receptor associated with atherothrombosis; and thrombosis research on platelet dysfunction in kidney disease. Throughout his career, Dr. Feliciano Serrano’s work has been published in journals and shared with others at conferences. Dr. Feliciano Serrano has been published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis among others, and lectured at such venues as Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate.
