I've been teaching for 7 years now, and I love it. I started teaching in inner city NY, then moved to the Bay Area after I got married and continued teaching. People thought I'd stop after my 2 years with Teach For America, but whether I enjoy the pain or just fell in love with the profession, I've been teaching ever since. Each day is a surprise - sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always unique.
My next adventure as a teacher is to expand beyond my classroom and enlarge my digital presence. I've chosen to participate in a Digital Educator program this year that will allow me to learn new tech programs and tools that will help my students learn. I feel that being a teacher nowadays requires stepping beyond your comfort zone and incorporating new interactive technology - all our students are doing it naturally with their friends, so why not incorporate technology into their learning too!
