Felicitas Kort

Felicitas Kort, President and founder of the Venezuelan Association for the Advancement of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapy and Vice President and co-founder of the Latin American Association for the Analysis and Modification of Behavior (ALAMOC), has developed her knowledge as a behavioral and cognitive therapy specialist over four decades in the field. Over the years Felicitas Kort has studied and worked within Venezuela and the United States; she currently holds several positions with institutions and maintains an independent practice in Venezuela.
In addition to her leadership roles with the Venezuelan Association for the Advancement of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapy and the ALAMOC, Ms. Kort has acted as a Professor of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy at the Central University of Venezuela since 2001, maintains an independent practice as she has for more than 40 years, and acts as Chief Director for the Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy Center for Families, a position she took on in 2000. Ms. Kort also serves on the editorial boards of several medical journals around the world, including England's Journal No Panic and Journal of Health Psychology, Mexico's Journal Revista Mexicana de Psicologia, and Spain's Journal Psicologia Conductual.
Felicitas Kort maintains strong ties with many professional associations in Venezuela and the United States. In 1986, she became a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for the Advancement of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in New York, and the Venezuelan Federation of Psychologists. Over the next five years she took on leadership roles in several other organizations; she became President of the Venezuelan Association of Behavior Therapy and Chairman of the Board of the Venezuelan Association of Psychotherapy, as well as Vice President of ALAMOC.
