I am a full time freelance writer with some 20 published titles for houses including Penguin, Little Island, Blackstaff and Guildhall Press. My range includes literary fiction , non fiction, short stories and young adult . A director of three theatre companies I’ve had 13 plays performed in professional theatre and another two under commission ; I also produce and occasionally act I have four screenplay credits for cinema and television . Awards include six Arts Council of NI Individual, Tyrone Guthrie for stage and screenplay , two Epic Ireland awards, two Meyer Whitworth nominations and the UK Big Lottery Best History project . Before writing full time I worked for twenty years as a BBC news journalist/ reporter , producer and editor.
