Femi Adekoya
Drone strategist, Farmer, and AgTech Professional in Nigeria
Femi Adekoya, popularly known as Femifarmer (the flyingfarmer), he is an AgricTech professional and experienced practitioner in the agricultural & horticultural industry with close to a decade years’ experience. He has a strong interest and experience with agricultural innovations and technologies.
He had his bachelors degree in Horticulture at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He holds a master's degree in Integrated Pest Management at Harper Adams University, Edgmond, United kingdom, through the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship by the UK Government.
He is the founder of Agridec Ltd, an agricultural value chain and consultancy company, who are also involved in extending and training youths and women in climate-smart and agricultural technologies/techniques that increase farmers' productivity and resilience.
Femi is also a Drone strategist and the Head of flight operations at Integrated Aerial Precision; a drone service and data analytics enterprise with a special focus on agriculture. Where he provides drone-powered solutions, training and consultancy to individuals and various organizations.
Femi is a UK Civil Aviation Authority certified drone pilot and also a drone data analyst, using UAVs and drone data to help farmers and relevant stakeholder adopt and practice precision agriculture. Femi is also a Youth in Data delegate of the CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture.
Through his engagements with Drones in Agriculture, he has introduced over 5, 000 agricultural technology enthusiasts to the realities and goodness of Drones in Agriculture. He has also trained and built the competence of close to 50 drone enthusiasts on drone piloting, many of who are now using this skills to make positive change in various industries and impacting positively on the future of work.
