Femi Gbajabiamila
Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria
Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attended the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he graduated with an LLB in 1983. In 1984, he was called to the Nigerian Bar.
Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila subsequently worked for Bentley Edu & Co., a Lagos-based law firm, before going on to establish Femi Gbaja & Co. He earned his Juris Doctor in Georgia in the United States at the John Marshall Law School and passed the Georgian Bar exam in 2001, following which he set up an Atlanta-based law firm. During his time in the United States, Mr Gbajabiamila was an active participant in Bill Campbell’s election campaign, who subsequently became the mayor of Atlanta.
Olufemi Gbajabiamila ran for the Speaker of the House position in 2019 and was subsequently elected as the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives. During his time in this post, he demonstrated intelligence and integrity, running a unified house and ensuring that every voice was heard, personally sponsoring several important bills designed to improve Nigerian lives. Mr Gbajabiamila has attended leadership development courses at respected institutions including Cambridge University, Stanford University, the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Said Business School at Oxford University.
Mr Gbajabiamila’s dedication to legislative contributions, public service and leadership in Nigerian politics have earned him both appreciation and recognition. In 2002 he was awarded the Nigerian national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic. Throughout his political career he has been recognised as a competent and dedicated legislator, advocating for the interests of his constituents and actively participating in debates.
