ARTIST PROFILE
My parents named me Fernando Ocampo Ventura. As a child for
almost four decades ago, my parents told me that I demonstrated a natural
graphic ability but was never encouraged to pursue art professionally when I
grew up due to lack of financial capability. December 26, 1968 when I was born
in Tagalog Region, Balanga, Bataan. But poverty is not a hindrance to pursue my
art career. In 1990, I studied a short course of Fine Arts in PWU, I seriously
considered art then as a career and moved to Painting in full-time. Since, I
return to my original passion, I truly came a long way in the notoriously hard
to crack art world. Initially, I established an art studio in Dasmarinas,
Cavite but failed to survive. Although these parts of my profession seems very
hard, I saw it in a positive way and gaining experiences like this moulded me
to be a more matured disciple of art. In 2002, I explore my skilled and talent
as an artist in the Middle East, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, most of my works are
purely mural in a Mediaeval Era theme. Only two of our national artist
influenced me most, Carlos "Botong" Francisco and Fernando Amorsolo but the
western style of "art nouveau" popularized by Alfons Mucha really inspired me
and it is very obvious on most of my composition. Being an artist is a learning
process so I considered my self as an adjutant for the advancement of my art, my heart and mind are always open for
the opportunity to mastered my skill and God-given talent.
