My history with BAX is a long one. In the Fall of 1991, while I was a graduate student at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, I performed in an OUTBACK showcase at BAX (then called the Gowanus Arts Exchange). That was my first New York City performance outside of school. Shortly after graduation, I began teaching, videotaping performances, and creating marketing materials for BAX. Over the years, I've been both a Space Grant recipient and an Artist In Residence.
During this time I worked several other jobs to augment/support my performance career, from waiting on tables to freelancing as an audio, video and graphics designer.
From 1999 to 2008, I worked at Warm Thoughts Communications, a marketing firm specializing in the residential energy services industry. Initially hired as a freelance designer, I was promoted to Art Director in 2004.
In 2008, I joined the staff of BAX as a full-time Press & Marketing Manager, but was soon promoted to Press & Marketing Director. Recently, as the needs of the department grew we renamed it to Marketing & Communications to reflect the broader scope of the department.
