Fernando Garcia [B.A (Labour Studies), M.I.R, B.C.L, LL.B, and MBA] is the Vice President Legal for Cargojet, Inc. He was formerly the General Counsel for Nissan Canada Inc. and Infiniti Canada. Fernando received an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, with a specialization in Strategic Management, he obtained both civil and common law degrees from McGill University, a Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Labour Studies from McMaster University.

Fernando is also very involved with his community and enjoys speaking and writing about advancing diversity and inclusiveness within the legal profession, as well as speaking about the future of law and how technology is changing and will change the profession. As a result of his work, he received the Thought Leader of the Year award at the 2018 Global Counsel Awards, was named one of the25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada by Canadian Lawyer Magazine (2017), awardedan Innovatio Award for Diversity (2017), he received a 2016 Zenith Award for Diversity and Inclusion and he was named as one of the "10 most influential Hispanic Canadians" by Canadian Hispanic Business on July 2015. He was also a recipient of the “Tomorrow’s Leader” award at the Canadian General Counsel Awards (June 1, 2015). Garcia is also a frequent speaker and contributor to discussions relating to legaltech and the future of law and is a columnist with Canadian Lawyer, where he writes about careers and other issues of interest to lawyers, especially recent graduates.
