I am a senior at the University of Delaware, majoring in Fashion Merchandising and already have my Associate of Arts degree from UD. I aspire to work in the fashion industry by either taking the buying or visual merchandising route. Currently I work as a Sales Associate for South Moon Under and was able to step up to the position of part-time manager/keyholder during the winter break of my junior year. I have also worked as a sales associate for both J. Crew and Gap, Inc. During my time at South Moon I've acquired many skills and had the opportunity to experience many different aspects of retail. We are a high service environment, so my customer service, sales, and interpersonal skills have grown quite a bit and I also regularly dress our mannequins, help with our visual displays and work as our location's main shipment person.
I've been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember. I love being able to utilize my appearance to convey a message to those around me in an artistic way. You can change the entire mood of a room simply through what you wear when you walk into it. People will always react to how you choose to present yourself physically, so why not have fun with fashion? Let your appearance represent who you are and where you intend to go in life. Of course I would love to have a "good" job and make something of myself, but my ultimate goal in life is to come up with ways to help people express themselves through what they wear and allow them to have fun while doing it, whether it be assisting them during shopping, merchandising the stores they shop in, or designing the clothing they're wearing.
