Festivus

From the Beginning:
Since 1997, Briar Cliff students have had an exclusive social gathering during one weekend in the spring, titled Festivus. It started out with a group of guys who made a code to dismiss their normal hygiene habits, engage in social events and enjoy a couple of days the weekend before graduation on campus.
From the Beginning:
The nostalgic weekend for few has bloomed into a campus-wide event for many. In 2003, Festivus moved off campus. The event was held on rented ground from the Omaha Indian Nation, and students were invited out to camp for a weekend full of grilling and games. The event became more commercialized over the years and T-shirts and cups were designed each year with a different theme to be sold. The same still holds true today. The Festivus tradition lives on because Briar Cliff students will it to.
