Fernando Gonzalezvilchis

Fernando Gonzalez is a television and radio personality whose career spans over thirty years both in the US and abroad. He is the first Mexican and Latino to be the play by play Radio Voice of the Los Angeles Lakers NBA Basketball Games for 18 consecutive years. Fernando has won five NBA rings and has narrated more than 1700 basketball games – a number only surpassed by legendary radio broadcaster Chick Hern. Fernando has not missed a single game in his almost two-decade career with The Lakers.

For four years he was also the Radio Voice of The Los Angeles Kings, NHL Hockey Games. He also hosted and produced several Radio Programs on Radio Alegria 920, KPLS-830 and a number of radio stations in US and in Mexico.

Fernando’s distinguished career in television has been primarily focused on News and Sports. Not only did he work in Televisa. But, for four years, he was the Sports Director and Anchor of KMEX-TV, Channel 34 in Los Angeles, a Univision Network Station. He has been a News Correspondent and Field Reporter for KVEA-TV, Channel 52 in Los Angeles, an NBC/Telemundo Network. As On-Air Talent for Fox Sports En Español, Fernando has covered the World Series of Baseball, World Cup Soccer Events, Copa America, Soccer Games from Latin America and Europe and has hosted a number of weekly Sports Programs. As News Director and Anchor at KWHY-TV, Channel 22 in Los Angeles, Fernando developed and managed “Noticias 22”, “Al Filo De La Noticia” and “Mundo Deportivo” as well as acted as the Executive Producer and On-Air Talent of LAMBCO Productions.

Fernando’s outstanding career on-camera and behind the mic has contributed to his success in the development and execution of new business ideas and creative concepts in the broadcast and larger media industry. He is the Founder and President of BMC & Production Services (a Spanish-language Media Consulting Company), President of Group 2000 Productions (a company that develops Spanish Language Television Programs in the US), and President of GOL Magazine, a weekly magazine focused in the sport of Soccer.

Fernando has also been the recipient of numerous accolades such as The Golden Mic and Emmy Awards for Excellence in Journalism.
