Professor Fernando Figueroa has been actively combating human trafficking since 2016 through intelligence-led investigations. He is the President and co-founder of the Anti-Trafficking Bureau (ATB), an international non-profit dedicated to dismantling trafficking networks and protecting victims.
As a professor at CMM College of Theology, he teaches in the Bachelor Degree in Human Trafficking Studies, providing students with critical skills to combat exploitation. His academic role complements his extensive field experience, making him a sought-after instructor for law enforcement, military, and intelligence agencies worldwide.
Professor Figueroa has worked with the Dominican Naval Intelligence Division (M-2), National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD), and Bureau of National Intelligence (DNI), training officers in counter-trafficking and organized crime. Since 2022, he has been a Close Quarters Combat (CQC) instructor for the SWAT team in the Dominican Republic National Police Special Operations Department.
He has trained thousands of law enforcement officers, intelligence operatives, and security professionals across Latin America, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Transnational Criminal Investigation Unit (TCIU), and anti-trafficking units in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
