Diondra Filicetti
Hi! I am a third year student in Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University.
This program has equipped me with such a diverse set of skills (both transferrable and industry-specific). I have learned about project management, leadership, consumer value perceptions, graphic design, premedia, printing processes, binding & finishing, and accounting. This has given me a unique perspective on product development because products have so many different elements that need to satisfy different concerns of the production process.
In regards to work experience, I have had the opportunity to work as a graphic designer for two different organizations. These experiences have taught me so much, as I have learned more about how to approach graphic design jobs and how best to communicate with those involved with the process. I also have experience working in Staples Copy & Print Centre which is a very fast-paced work environment requiring you to take orders, coordinate production and actually produce the jobs. This job taught me efficiency and to be proactive with jobs so that everything is "Done Right and On Time."
It is so important to maintain a balanced lifestyle and develop some of your interests outside of school or your professional life! Outside of work and school, I enjoy playing soccer, dancing, and live entertainment.
Dance has always been a love of mine, and although I was never formally enrolled in a dance school or dance program, I have been dancing for a long time. It was in high school when I was most involved as part of a dance crew performing at different events. Also in high school, I took interest in the performing arts including poetry, drama, and music. I love attending concerts, watching plays and writing and listening to poetry.
To summarize, I am a hardworking individual, who loves to learn new things. I love supporting the talents of others and enjoying the performing arts. I enjoy spending time outside, playing sports and appreciating the scenery. I consider myself a funny person, although I was told that my jokes are lame, but the whole idea is to put a smile on someone's face. At the end of the day I hope to leave a positive impact wherever I go, and to someday make a significant change in this world.
