I have created a page and group called "Project Sicily", Project Sicily is my way of educating people about the real Sicily, not the Sicily portrayed in Hollywood. Project Sicily is a group of concerned Sicilian and non-Sicilians, who are united by their love of Sicily. We are trying to show everyone that there are real people that are suffering there, we are of course well aware of what is happening with the refugee situation, but what everyone is forgetting is the actually the people who live there that although many are not so welcoming of the thousands of refugees are reacting that way because of their dire situation and that are not being helped because of a corrupt Italian government and they're caught in between. Obviously Italy's only concern is to honor their obligation to the European Union and its allies and to save face in the eyes of the world. What the world does not know is that Italy is ignoring the very people that are the hosts, the ones that have to pick up the pieces when something goes wrong. All we want to do is to bring attention to lingering problem, that has been simmering for decades and still not close to a fair a just solution.
