Filipe de Carvalho

Born in Brazil, emigrating at the age of six. I grew up in Worcester, MA and am now a sophomore Finance and Economics double Major at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst. I am also a member of the Commonwealth Honors College and pursuing a minor in mathematics. On my spare time I volunteer for the Center for Education Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) and traverse the world of amateur powerlifting.

Currently I'm exploring stock markets and investments whenver possible. Attaining financial security and independence is very important to me. While I am not sure what career path I will take, I know for certain that I plan on investing early and properly. Thus by participating in the Investment club and taking part in the Investopedia challenge I am hoping to learn a skill that I believe everyone should have. After all, being able to have your money make money for you is incredibly enticing.
