ABOUT NEARBY NATURE

Nearby Nature is a local resource in greater Puget Sound in Washington state dedicated to exploring and promoting, the health and wellness benefits of nearby nature in our urban environment. We provide news, information, and inspiration on the restorative and healing qualities of gardens, green spaces, and other naturalized urban landscapes.

Particular interests include healthy community design in the context of open, green space in urban centers; locally-grown food, and the effects of green landscapes, gardens, parks, etc. in promoting health and wellness.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

I am an interdisciplinary communicator with a post-graduate certificate in therapeutic and healing landscapes. I believe that gardens and green spaces, urban nature and wild places, enhance our day-to-day health, and restore the human spirit more than more than any part of the built environment in which we live.
